Our Causes

Back Road’s annual giving focuses specifically on the youth in our small community ~ Brattleboro, Vermont.
We currently sponsor four creative and well-established programs.

NECCA (New England Center for Circus Arts)

NECCA (New England Center for Circus Arts), offers scholarships for children in need to develop new skills & gain self-confidence in a safe, fun and supportive environment.

In their own words:
“The New England Center for Circus Arts is a non-profit circus school based in Brattleboro, Vermont ~ committed to providing access to circus arts instruction to anyone who is interested in what circus has to offer them ~ regardless of their ability to pay.”

The Boys & Girls Club

The Boys & Girls Club has been operating for many years, right in the heart of our downtown. It’s a safe place to learn and grow ~ all while having fun. Kids from 6 to 18 have an easily accessible space to ‘hang’ after school every weekday. There is a myriad of activities, from poetry and art classes and their own inside skate park.

In their own words:
“When young people walk through our doors, they enter a place where their opinions are valued, their identity is accepted, their actions are useful and appreciated, and their own influence can be used to create an environment that meets their needs.”

Back Roads Granola proudly sponsored the Boys & Girls Club’s 2021 GOING THE DISTANCE fundraising event.

The Vermont Foodbank

The Vermont Foodbank mission is to gather and share quality food and nurture partnerships so that no one in Vermont will go hungry.

The Vermont Foodbank is the state’s largest hunger-relief organization, providing nutritious food through a network of more than 300 community partners – food shelves, meal sites, senior centers, after-school programs, schools and hospitals. The Vermont Foodbank, a member of Feeding America, provides about 12 million pounds of food annually to people throughout Vermont.
